Royal Masonic School for Girls

Rickmansworth - Hertfordshire

Built: June 5, 2015

“Many thanks for the finished project. I am pleased with the end results. Please thank your team.” I. Connors – Head Teacher

What were the reasons for developing your outdoor space?

The school wanted to rejuvenate their existing play area with a more natural feel of timber play equipment.

How we transformed the play area to provide outdoor learning opportunities for the children:

The outdoor grounds at the school are very picturesque and the new equipment needed to have a natural feel to fit on the boundaries of the existing wet pour play area. We designed a bespoke Combination Trail to follow the contours of the edges and included an Overhead Trapeze, Burma Bridge, Net Ladder and Parallel Bars which were voted for by the girls at the school.

How the children will benefit from the new play area:

Traversing, Balancing, Climbing and Coordination skills will be developed as the children use their new Combination Trail and Adventure Trail. Physical activity will be encouraged by offering more opportunities for the children to test themselves at break times.
