Morley – Head Teacher What were the reasons for developing your outdoor space? The school wanted to improve their sports orientated activities during break times. How we transformed the play area to provide outdoor learning opportunities for the children: The school had a large area of tarmac which was already used predominantly for football, netball and basketball. However there was no marked pitch or goal ends and therefore no structured sports activities could be carried out. We provided a multi-use goal end to each end of a newly marked out Football, Netball and Basketball court meaning every one of these sports could now be played by the children during break times and P.E lessons. How the children will benefit from the new play area: Children of all ages within the school will be able to increase their physical activity by using the sports area to its full potential. Health, fitness and well-being will all be improved by engaging in any of the sporting activities the new court offers.
