“We are absolutely delighted with our new playground. The children now have a trim trail, a lovely area of artificial grass with benches, as well as some bright and colourful thermoplastic ground graphics. The whole process from enquiry through to installation has been seamless. They have been on the end of a phone or an email whenever we have needed them and they have been very supportive with any changes we have wanted to make. All the contractors who have installed the equipment have also been very professional and very friendly. I would definitely use this company again. A great big thank you to everyone who has been involved in the project. 10/10 – Excellent”

J. Coupland – School Business Manager

What were the reasons for developing your outdoor space?

“Our playground had not had any investment for many years and all the children had to play on was a concrete yard. It had been the desire of all children, parents and staff to develop the playground into a stimulating and fun environment for the pupils to enjoy and to increase fitness levels across all age groups.”

How we transformed the play area to provide outdoor learning opportunities for the children:

We started the re-developments by including a new Nile Combination Trail which combines some of our most popular trail units by combining them into one linear formation. The Nile includes a: Balance Weave, Rope Balance, Traverse Wall x 2, Rope Traverse, Log Balance x 2, Log Crossing, Rope Weave and an Overhead Trapeze.

The Nile Combination Trail was surfaced with a Recycled Rubber Mulch wear pad to give the children all weather access and differences in texture underfoot.

A new seating area was created using artificial grass to bring a natural feel to the concrete play area. The children can sit on their new benches or straight onto the grass during break times to rest and relax.

We supplied and laid a selection of KS1 and KS2 ground graphics including Alphabet Shapes, 1-25 Number Snake and 1-100 Number Grid.

How the children will benefit from the new play area:

The children will be able to use the Nile Combination Trail to increase their physical activity at break times by providing them more exciting options of play. Whilst using this unit they will be improving all kinds of skills including balancing, swinging, climbing, traversing, crawling and cooperation.

The new seating area gives the children a quiet area for rest and relaxation and to also engage in social interaction.

The ground graphics offer new games to be used alongside the school curriculum but also test the children’s imagination at break times as they create new games and ways of playing on them.
