What were the reasons for developing your outdoor space?

The existing equipment had been in for a number of years and was now showing signs of rot. Spaced out over a large area some of the equipment had been condemned and needed to be removed. As everything was situated on grass during the winter months the area was not accessible.

How we transformed the play area to provide outdoor learning opportunities for the children:

The original brief was to surface under all of the existing equipment to make it accessible for the children in all-weather. As the equipment was near the end of its life expectancy and spaced out over a large area, we felt that installing a costly safety surface in a large quantity wouldn’t be the best use of funds. Our advice was to remove the existing equipment as some of the items had become a hazard. We then proposed to install our Play Frame 7 close to the access point. By installing the equipment closer to the access point the quantity of surfacing now required was considerably less. This allowed us to install a large unit with an all-weather surface instead of just a large quantity of surfacing under the existing equipment.

How the children will benefit from the new play area:

Our Play Frame 7 offers incredible play value with a mixture of low-level and high-level units. Each unit will help the children improve their upper and lower body strength as well as encourage physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.
