What were the reasons for developing your outdoor space?

“We have a rising number of children on roll in our school and we needed more play equipment to help improve their playtime experiences.”

How we transformed the play area to provide outdoor learning opportunities for the children:

Working together with schools throughout the entire process of choosing a play provider is paramount to us. From initial idea to fundraising to design and installation. Forest & Sandridge C of E School approached us in September 2016 for some ideas and pricing on a new Adventure Trail. Following 8 months of hard work and excellent fundraising by the PTA the school realised their dream. We provided an Up & Over, Balance Junction, Log Snake Weaver and Net Crossing in an informal trail formation.

How the children will benefit from the new play area:

The children’s physical activity will increase by now having an area dedicated to climbing, jumping, stepping, balancing, traversing, crawling and weaving. All the units chosen will develop their gross motor skills and increase exercise time. Having the units in an informal formation allows them to make their own choices of how to utilise the equipment. 

What were your main reasons for working with EPE over other competitors?
