“Outstanding work throughout, high quality personalised service and quick installation. We were extremely satisfied with the service that you have provided. Thank you for your
attention at all times during the process of obtaining our playground equipment. 10/10 Excellent!” R. Williams – Head Teacher

What were the reasons for developing your outdoor space?
Located around the back of the school just off of the playing field was a pond created some years ago. Due to the maintenance issues the pond became overgrown and unusable. The area was cleared, filled in and levelled. We were then called into action to look at what we could do with the ‘blank canvas’ that was left. Richard Williams the Head Teacher had decided on one of our Multi-Level Activity Units, so we presented the options of our Acorn and Cygnet Units.

How we transformed the play area to provide outdoor learning opportunities for the children:
To bring the ground back to a satisfactory standard, we overlaid the bare ground with a fresh layer of Turf giving back the natural appeal of the area. Our Cygnet Multi-Level Activity Tower was chosen by the school to be installed. The unit provides various activities and is very flexible. Additional features can easily be added in the future providing endless play opportunities for years to come, this was a request raised by the Head Teacher early on in the project. To complete the site Grassmatt Safety Surfacing was laid throughout to provide an area fully compliant with BS EN 1176 regulations. The surfacing will also help improve the durability of the new grass against the wear of the children getting the most out of their new climbing equipment.

How the children will benefit from the new play area:
The new play area will provide the children with a new place to meet and socialise during break times compared to the unused space it was before.
The three-tower Cygnet play structure offers a vast range of different activities for the younger child. There are many climbing, balancing, traversing and crawling challenges that can be accomplished which will help the children of Chilham St. Mary’s to develop coordination and upper body strength whilst increasing their physical activity.
