What were the reasons for developing your outdoor space?
To provide a musical option for children of all ages at play times.

How we transformed the play area to provide outdoor learning opportunities for the children:
Using the existing Tree Stump the Tubano Drums were installed in a semi-circle around it making it the perfect seat to conduct a performance from. The Flying Amadinda and Ally Flat Bar Glockenspiel were chosen to also compliment the sounds of the drums. They were installed within the same area to transform a once unused space into a Musical Performance Zone.

How the children will benefit from the new play area:
The children will be able to learn how to play harmonic music as soon as they start due to the scales of all the instruments being tuned to the pentatonic scale. The children will experience different sounds and experiences depending on the amount of users at any time. The Musical Instruments encourage children’s sense of imagination and courage as they step up on their own or with a friend to create their new masterpiece. Hand and eye co-ordination will be improved by using the attached beaters or the children’s own hands to play the Instruments. The Musical Performance Zone also lends itself to becoming a perfect social and interaction area for the children to meet and socialise.
