Why active environments are great for kids during Winter.

September 30, 2019

As Winter approaches it may be more difficult to get children out to play during lunchtime and breaks. This is, of course, no surprise when the British weather is so unpredictable

Having the right outdoor space is important in the bid to get children to keep active and fit. Outdoor space should also inspire play. This means having quality outdoor equipment, play surfaces and covered outdoor space

The right playground is an area which promotes the physical and mental wellbeing of children.  Of course, not all children are the same, so each environment should be unique reflections of children and their needs.

Active environments include slides, climbing frames through to adventure trails and fitness stations encouraging physical play which helps to keep the children fit while keeping warm.

The surface of the play area like anti-slip paint ensures that children are kept safe while running on sports courts and  mile running tracks which encourage movement and team play.

With outdoor classrooms, children can have shelter from the elements while still enjoying being outside.
